What happens if an instant Drug and Alcohol screen returns a non-negative result?
A sample is collected under S/NZ 4308:2009 and sent to the laboratory for confirmation.
What happens when you receive the laboratory result?
The result is overseen by a doctor and sent to you via the method requested at original booking.
What do I do with an employee who returns a non-negative result?
Your Company Drug and Alcohol Policy will determine your next step. If your company does not already have a Drug and Alcohol Policy in place, consideration should be given to the development of such a policy, in consultation with relevant stakeholders. This would ensure that both your company and the employee would have a point of reference for action to be taken under such circumstances.
Who are our external providers?
We use Western Diagnostic Laboratories for our pathology and drug and alcohol screening. We use Darwin Physiotherapy for our Physio Musculoskeletal assessments. We use Territory Imaging for our Chest X-Rays. We use Royal Darwin Hospital for our Stress ECG appointments.
How quickly could I get an employee in for a medical assessment?
We can, under most circumstances, offer an appointment within a day or two.
If I only require that a Drug Screen be done, how soon can I get my employee in?
We would be able to see your employee for either an Instant or a Laboratory Drug and/or Alcohol Screen on the same day, should that be required.
Should I require a Physio Musculoskeletal along with the medical, how much notice would you require?
Generally 24 hours should be sufficient notice. Should this not be achievable our Work Fit staff member would advise you immediately once they are notified.

Missed appointments will be charged for doctors time only.

* One appointment is required for each employee that needs to be seen.
